Davao overall champion sa PLDT-ABAP tourney
PANABO City, Davao Del Norte, Philippines - Ipinakita ng Davao Del Norte ang kanilang dominasyon sa rehiyon matapos angkinin ang overall title ng 2010 PLDT-ABAP Mindanao Area Boxing Amateur Tournament.
Tinanghal si Davao City youngster John Vincent Moralde bilang “Boxer of the Tournament” makaraang pagharian ang bantamweight class sa junior boys division.
Kinuha ni Moralde ang gold medal nang magtala ng 2nd round RSC kay hometown bet Marvilo Aballe.
“The tournament is one of the best organized and best fought. Our national coaches spotted a lot of talent who will be tested those chosen in the Luzon, Visayas and NCR tournaments,” sabi ni ABAP Executive Director Ed Picson.
Idaraos ng ABAP ang kanilang National finals sa Enero 22-28, 2011 sa Cagayan De Oro City.
Ang nasabing event sa Davao City ay nilahukan ng 232 boxers mula sa 21 clubs.
“We thank ex-Cong Tony Boy Floirendo, Cong. Anton Lagdameo and ABAP Deputy Executive Director Generose Tecson and her staff for a job well done. The tournament is a proof positive that our grassroots development program is alive and kicking,” ani Picson.
