Operasyon kay Margarito tagumpay

MANILA, Philippines - Naging matagumpay ang isinagawang surgery kay Antonio Margarito ng Mexico para ayusin ang kan­yang fractured right orbital bone kahapon sa Me­thodist Hospital sa Dallas, Texas.

Ito ang inihayag ng Top Rank Promotions kaugnay sa kasalukuyang estado ng 5-foot-11 na si Margarito matapos bugbugin ni Filipino world eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao noong Linggo sa Cow­boys Stadium sa Arling­ton, Texas.

Sina Pacquiao at Margarito ay kapwa nasa bakuran ng Top Rank ni Bob Arum.

“The doctor told us eve­rything went perfect, no complications of any kind,” wika ni Sergio Diaz, ang co-manager ni Margarito. “There is nothing wrong with his right eye. … Antonio is such a warrior. The first thing he asked was, ‘When can I start running,’ and we told him he has to re­lax for a while.

Para sa kanyang tulu­yang paggaling, isang buwan ang kakailanganin ni Margarito.

“For sure, at least 60 days of no contact of any kind in a gym,” dagdag ni Diaz sa dating three-time world titlist.

Aminado naman ang 32-anyos na si Margarito na mas magaling sa kanya ang 5’6 1/2 at 31-anyos na si Pacquiao, ang tanging boksingerong humawak ng walong world boxing crowns sa walong magka­kaibang weight divisions .

Magdamag pang mananatili si Margarito sa ospital kasama ang kanyang asawang si Michelle, co-ma­nagers na sina Diaz at Francisco Espinoza at trainer Robert Garcia.
