Hostilidad ng POF Mindanao leg simula na

Cagayan de Oro City — Nagsimula na ang hostili-dad ngayon kung saan rumatsada agad ang ibang palaro na senyales ng panimula ng Mindanao Leg ng Philippine Olympic Festival sa Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Complex dito.

Nagsimula na ang aksiyon sa football, table tennis, chess, baseball at sepak takraw sa ilang pangunahing lugar dito.

Ang mayaman sa me-dalyang athletics ay mag-sisimula sa Biyernes ha-bang ang swimming, na ihohost ng Misamis Oriental ay lalangoy sa Huwe-bes.

Ang event ay  supor-tado ng The Philippine STAR, Globe, Accel, AMA Computer College, Asia Brewery, Negros Navigation at Creativity Lounge.

Ang isang linggong palaro ang opisyal na idineklara ni host Misamis Oriental Gov. Oscar More-no sa inulang opening ce-remony sa harap ng may 2,000 athletes at officials mula sa 19 regions  kabi-lang na ang host province.

Si Moreno ay sinama-han nina Mayor Constan-tino Jaraula at Congressmen Yevgeny Emano at Danilo Lagbas kung saan dumalo din sina Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Co-juangco, Jr., POF Organizing Committee chair Robert Aventajado at sports association heads Nestor Ilagan (dragon boat), MarioTanchangco (sepak takraw) at Nick Cabalza (powerlifting).

“This could be the way to the 2010 World Youth Championship, this could be it because this is equal to the regular Olympic me-dal,” anang dating Tarlac Congressman na si Cojuangco.

“Cagayan de Oro has the facilities and the intention of developing sports, This allows athletes to compete in an atmosphere where Olympic tradition is being observed,”  wika naman ni Aventa-jado.

Ang Misamis Oriental ang may pinakamaraming bilang ng partisipante na may 360 kasunod ang  Zamboanga City na may  153 at Sarangani na may 127.

Ang iba pang dele-gasyon ay mula sa General Santos City, Bukid-non, Cagayan de Oro, Sultan Kudarat, Koro-nadal City, Misamis Occidental/Tangub City, Agusan del Sur, Cotabato City.
