Handa na ang lahat para sa 22nd SEA Games

Ang lahat ay handa na para sa nalalapit na paglahok ng Philippine delegation sa nalalapit na 22nd Southeast Asian Games sa susunod na buwan sa Vietnam.

Mayroon na lamang 20-araw mula ngayon, bago ganapin ang nasabing biennial meet sa siyudad ng Hanoi at Ho Chi Minh sa Vietnam, inihayag ni Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Eric Buhain na ang lahat ng Filipino athletes na aabot sa 449 ay pawang mga kumpiyansa at handa na sa kani-kanilang kampanya para sa karangalan at tagumpay ng bansa.

"Our athletes are well-prepared and modestly equiped at handang-handa na sila. There’s no doubt about that," ani Buhain ng maging panauhin sa SCOOP Sa Kamayan weekly session kahapon.

"Majority of those we sent to gain international exposures have returned, including the 85 that benefited from the fundraising campaign initiated by First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, and everybody has expressed satisfaction from the additional experience they acquired in the hope of further improving their skills," ani pa ng PSC chief sa forum na hatid ng Photokina Marketing.

Sinabi pa ni Buhain na makakakuha ang bansa ng hindi bababa sa 90-95 percent na gold na kanyang inaasahan mula sa 85 atleta na lalahok sa 17 sports na pinondohon ng First Gentleman Foundation mula sa P24 milyon na kinita sa ginanap na fundraising campaign noong nakaraang buwan.

Ayon kay Buhain, makakasungkit ng ginto ang bansa mula sa athletics, archery, boxing, cycling, diving, fencing, gymnastics, judo, karatedo, pencat silat, rowing, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling at wushu.
