RP swimmers pumangalawa sa 26th Southeast Asia Age group

Umagaw ng eksena ang Philippine Swimming Team sa international scene makaraang sumungkit ng second overall title sa 26th Southeast Asia (SEA) Age-group Championships noong nakaraang Hunyo 7-9 sa Bangkok, Thailand.

Nag-uwi ang RP tankers ng 17 golds, 19 silvers at 17 bronze medals, kasabay ng paglatag ng apat na bagong SEA age group records at pagguhit ng 21 national age group marks.

Pinagkalooban si Busan Asian games-bound Miguel Molina ng Best Performance Award para sa 15-17 years old boys group 1 category.

Binasag ni Molina ang SEA age group record sa 200 meter breaststroke sa pamamagitan ng 2:23.86, habang nagposte naman si Luica Dacanay ng bagong record sa 15-17 age bracket record sa 50 meter backstroke sa tiyempong 31.87. Tinabunan ni Alistair Kennedy ang record sa 11-12 age group class para sa boys 50 meter butterfly at 50 meter backstroke sa kanyang tiyempong 29.19 at 31.33, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Binasag din ni Molina ang national age group marks sa 100 meter breast (1:07.04), 100 meter freestyle (52.78) at sa 200 meter breaststroke (2:23.86).

Nagposte rin sina James Walsh (200 meter butterfly), Evan Grabador (200 meter backstroke) at Benjamin Uy (100 meter butterfly) ng bagong national boys age group records sa 15-17 years category, habang gumuhit rin si Dacanay sa 50 meter backstroke ng national mark para sa girls.
