Save the butandings!
A PRESSING PROBLEM. An Ear informer shared some pictures she saw on Facebook wherein a woman rode a butanding that was stranded on the shores of a southern town. “Wa pa gyud kasabot ang mga tao oi nga dili ni sila angay hikapon, pakan-on ug sakyan!” she said emphatically. “Kinahanglan na gyud nga hunungon ning gipangbuhat aning mga tawhana,” she added.
LGU FAILURE.The informer said that many experts have already said their piece about what to do with the butandings but still there are locals who make a business out of these creatures. “Sa akong tan-aw wa man nagpakabana ang local government. Mas maayo pa siguro ug manghilabot na ang national agency, DENR ba ron or animal welfare, aron mahunong na ni nga mga practice ug ma-save ug ma protektahan ang mga butanding,” the informer said.
