Firecrackers still easily available in Colon

- The Ear -

WHO SAYS? Vendors of firecrackers seem to be thumbing their noses on the directive of Cebu City officials to ban the sale of firecrackers on streetsides and inside malls. After Mayor Osmeña said that sale of firecrackers will be forbidden outside the South Road Properties, media promptly announced that firecrackers will be harder to find now with the ban imposed by government officials. A college student who read about the ban in the news commented, “Mao ba? Kinsa gud nag-ingon nga lisud na mapalit ang pabuto? PR ra na. Kadaghan diha gipang-display sa Colon.”

OPEN DISPLAY. A mediaman saw for himself that dangerous firecrackers, including Judas Belt are sold openly along Colon St. He told The Ear, “Bitaw, daghan man diha gabaligya sa Colon. Mora’g wala ra man gitagad sa awtoridad.” Another mediaman said, “Abtik man gud kaayo ang maninda og pabuto diha. Inig kita nila nga naay mosikop, ila dayon tagoon ang mga pabuto unya mga torotot nalang ang ipang-display.”
