Subdivision resident gripes vs. high dues

Levity aside now, a resident of Aboitiz Land's Briza Subdivision in Consolacion, Cebu, has a gripe against their homeowners' association which collects a monthly membership due of P707.

"This is already quite excessive but the association is increasing the monthly due by P5 per square meter of our lot which is 202 sq. m. making it P1,010 per month," the resident said. "Now, that is too much."

This resident says Briza Subdivision is a middle-class village, yet the monthly association membership due is much, much higher those in first class and upscale subdivisions where residents pay only from P250 to P300 per house per month.

"I can't understand why we are made to pay association dues much higher than those paid by homeowners in first class and upscale subdivisions," the resident said. "I hope something positive can be done by Aboitiz Land to correct this unfair and unjustified association dues which Briza residents are made to bear.
