As 'Santi' intensifies, potential cyclone 'Tino' looms
MANILA, Philippines - As tropical storm Santi is expected to make a landfall in Central and Northern Luzon this weekend, a potential cyclone approaches from the Pacific.
PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura said in radio report Thursday that the weather disturbance may develop into a tropical cyclone named "Tino" within 24 to 48 hours.
"Tino" is expected to reach the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday but is not expected to linger like previous typhoon Ramil, he said.
Santi, meanwhile may continue to gain strength before it heads for Vietnam and exit the Philippines on Monday or Tuesday, the forecaster said.
