Truck rams motorcycle; 3 dead

BALAOAN, La Union, Philippines —Three people were killed after their motorcycle collided with a truck in this town on Thursday night.

The fatalities included the motorcycle driver and his two passengers, one of them identified as Emilia Bugayong. They were declared dead on arrival at the Balaoan District Hospital due to severe head and body injuries.

Reports said the victims were traveling along the highway in Barangay Pantar Norte when they figured in the accident at past 10 p.m..

Initial investigation showed the motorcycle swerved, causing it to crash into the incoming truck.

Truck driver Venson Fiesta, 41, was brought to the police station for questioning.
