8 nabbed in San Pablo drug raid

-

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested eight persons during a raid over the weekend at a drug den in San Pablo City.

Superintendent Raul Bargamento, San Pablo City police chief said the suspects, identified as Felisardo Belarmino, Charilyn Belen, Robert Nolloda, Angelino Jacar, Rodolfo Vergara, Manolito Pumupula, Christian Juver Arbilo and Michael Nino Andal yielded six sachets of shabu and drug sniffing paraphernalia.

Bargamento said the raided drug den located at Barangay San Juan is only a few blocks away from another drug den which was raided by the local police two weeks ago resulting to the arrest of seven persons.

“We are pressing our campaign against drug pushers and users to make the city drug-free,” said Bargamento.

Calabarzon police director Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad said the series of raids conducted by his men is in line with President Arroyo’s directive to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs.

“There will be no let up in our campaign against illegal drugs, especially with our advocacy to make the Calabarzon region business and tourist friendly. We are going to make our workplaces, our tourist-destinations and our communities drug-free,” said Palad.

“Let us all take the cue from the President who is the country’s drug czar. Let us all join hands in the anti-drug campaign. Just report to us any illegal drug activities in your neighborhood and your policemen will make the appropriate arrests,” Palad said as he appealed for full cooperation from concerned citizens.   – Non Alquitran
