MANILA, Philippines — Muling dumanas ang Metro Manila at 26 pang lugar sa bansa ng mataas na heat index kahapon, ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration Services (PAGASA).                           

Sa tala ng PAGASA, ang Virac, Catanduanes ay nakaranas ng 46 degrees Celsius na heat index habang 45 degree Celsius sa Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

Umabot naman sa 44 degrees Celsius ang naramdamang init sa Laoag City, Ilocos Norte at maging sa Aparri, Cagayan; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan at Roxas City, Capiz.

Naitala rin ang 43°C sa Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Isabela State University sa Echague, Isabela; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Central Bicol State University of Agriculture sa Pili, Camarines Sur; Dumangas, Iloilo; Catarman, Northern Samar at Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Nasa 42 °C  heat index naman ang naitala sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Pasay City; Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Mariano Marcos State University sa Batac, Ilocos Norte; Iba, Zambales; Cubi Point sa Subic Bay, Olongapo City; Sangley Point, Cavite; Cuyo, Palawan; Legazpi City, Albay; Masbate City, Masbate; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Catbalogan, Samar; Tacloban City, Leyte; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur at Davao City, Davao del Sur.

Ayon sa PAGASA, ang heat index ay ang ramdam na init sa katawan ng isang tao sa panahon na mainit ang temperatura.
