MANILA, Philippines — The “One Zone Fest” (OZF) will be a showcase of talent as Filipino acts SB19, XONARA and J2X have joined forces at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

Along with the 1Z Entertainment artists, the concert will also feature other Filipino artists, hoping to highlight the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and P-pop scene.

“Malaki ‘yung goal ni OZF, it’s starting now but definitely mas malaki pa ‘yung goal niya. One of the goals is to really promote P-pop, OPM all over the world,” SB19’s Pablo told reporters in a roundtable discussion.

For choreographer Jay Roncesvalles, it is a dream come true to perform with his new act as J2X.

“Kapag umuuwi ako, napapaisip din ako na nangyayari na ‘yung mga bagay na pinapanalangin ko before. Nabubuhay na pala ako sa dream ko,” he said.

XONARA’s Dominique was also excited to share the stage with their fellow artists at the Big Dome.

“Na-e-excite po kami kasi matagal na rin po namin ‘tong inaantay kasi iba po ‘yung pag-share po ng ‘Wakas At Simula’ concert,” Dominique said.

“Ito po talaga festival po siya ng 1Z artists with SB19, XONARA and J2X, along with special performances. We’re very excited po as we prepared so much po for this, and we’re looking forward po na ipakita ito sa inyong lahat,” she added.

With the festival, Pablo hoped to show what it really means with their mantra as a group: “(The ‘Zone’) is where all creatives, passionate people go, kasi gusto nilang i-celebrate kung ano ‘yung meron sila, nang malaya sila.”

“Dito makikita nila kung gaano kalaya, kung gaano ka-passionate ‘yung mga artists ng 1Z. For sure, kapag hindi sila nanood, marami silang ma-mi-miss,” the SB19 leader said.

“Marami kaming mga hinanda rito. Mayroon kaming mga special guests. Mayroon kaming mga sub-units, if you already saw SB19 perform, what more if with more twists,” he added.

J2X described the concert like a “carinderia,” where everyone can pick every dish that they want.

“It’s nice to eat at a carinderia. There’s various dishes, everything you want to eat is there,” J2X said.

“We have a lot of collaborations between ourselves. We did something, and we decided who will be grouped together. I also have a collaboration from outside 1Z with someone I really want to dance with,” he added.

The seven-piece group, composed of Eurekah, Ella, Dominique, Tin, Megumi, Lei and Namie, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, with Tin stressing how they’ve been working on their performances since July. “It’s super exciting because we’re gonna try something new but stronger, but at the same time, the fans will see our vulnerable side.”

Being with XONARA and J2X, Pablo was glad to see the fruits of their labor come to life with 1Z Entertainment.

“We’re just happy of everything that we’ve been doing. Nagkaroon na siya ng bunga. To see everyone here, natutuwa ako kasi first time naming magkasama in one frame promoting P-pop, OPM in general,” he said.

Josh echoed his sentiments, saying, “We’re very grateful na ‘yung mga moments na ginagawa naming from the get-go, nagkakaroon na ng fruits.”

“Not just limited to this, but we have been inspiring a lot of people outside of 1Z as well. We have been helping the industry, and being a part of it is actually grateful for us. We want to continue what we’re doing in many forms that we do,” Josh said.

“I feel like, as of now, we just want to cherish every moment, and we just really want to continue what we have been doing,” he added.
