Thai artists visit Manila for possible collaborations with local production companies

MANILA, Philippines — Film producers, celebrities, actors and creatives from Thailand were recently in Manila to present the latest film and TV collaborations in the country.

The event was led by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) Ministry of Commerce, which was represented by trade officers Wannapong Waiyawuththanapoom and Prachak Manosuthi.

Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, Her Excellency Makarawadee Sumitmoha from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, gave welcome remarks.

Minister Counsellor Sutinee Vathana of Thai Trade Center Manila (DITP Thailand) and Counsellor Kanthima Kanjanadecha also from DITP were also present, as well as Honorable Emmanuel Samson, special envoy of the Philippine President to Thailand.

Thai actors Jatuporn “Jay” DangUrai (“The Heart Killers” and “The Warp Effect”) and Yang Dong Won were part of ProGold Plus Company, led by chief executive officer (CEO) Vitvat Supasiriwatthanakul. They visited Manila and took part in the recent event held at New World Hotel in Makati City.

Also visiting from Thailand were Thai actress Kharittha Sungsaopath and actor co-producer Thannidhi Tharinpirom from Waga Creative, accompanied by the company’s CEO and project manager Paveena Pomsuk.

Three Thai producers from Studio 1986 – Taddanai Praman, Sarrudapat Kongtoh and Jinna Kongma – joined the presentation. The company produces documentary series.

Also counted in the event were CEO of 9 NAA Production Worarit Ninklom, managing director of Halo Productions Napassarin Prompila (who delivers vertical drama), executive assistant of Matching Maximize Solution Sujitra Jampathong, senior associate vice president of One 31 Noppachai Wangrak, managing director of PRT Idea Studio Peeranthon Saensook.

Rabbit Moon Corporation prides itself as a company that “creates imagination beyond the tangible.” It has expanded into artist management and venture corporation. CEO is Akrawat Ruengkitakra.

Executive producer of Go On House Thitipun Satitamorntham was accompanied by editor Pattata Tantilipikara and head of creative and director Torphong Kul-on.

Others in the line-up of presentors were CEO of Mahamongkol Film Studio Production Nhararmin Kumraks, associate producer and business development head of Mojo Living Natthanan Luengpuangkaew, Thai Broadcasting Workpoint Group senior licensing officer Natnicha Wittayamas and licensing and content partnership assistant manager Pataneeya Siripraprut.

ThemeWork Studio managing director Phairoj Tewinburanuwong and business development director Suchada Bussaracomwong, Top Move managing director Wutikom Yuphawatthana and World Premier Art managing director Laksawan Wongworrakan and group brand manager Tidarat Kaewpira were likewise part of the presentation.

Earlier, the Thai delegation of production outfits, media execs and actors visited GMA Network Center in Quezon City. The meeting, as reported by GMA, was part of the “Thai Content in the Philippines” trade mission aimed at building entertainment partnerships. They were wlecomed by GMA senior vice president Annette Gozon-Valdes and other top executives. GMA was noted for its pioneering role in broadcasting nearly 100 Thai lakorns or dramas since 2018.
