Ryan Bang gets emotional recalling failed wedding to Paola Huyong
MANILA, Philippines — Ryan Bang became emotional as he looked back on his past relationship with former fiancée Paola Huyong, admitting through a heartfelt message that their love story did not end the way they had hoped.
The Korean TV host-comedian appeared to be deeply affected as he recalled his plans to marry Paola, with his fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts immediately comforting him after his emotional moment.
The incident happened during the noontime program’s “Attendance Check” segment on August 22, when the hosts took part in a “Shout Out To Your Ex” challenge.
His co-host Vice Ganda asked the “It’s Showtime” hosts to give a message to their former partners. In celebration of Buwan ng Wika, however, there was a twist: their messages had to be delivered in poetic form.
“Kapag sinabi ko ang apelyido, magbibigay ng mensahe o shout-out sa kaniyang ex. At dahil Buwan ng Wika, patula ang pagkakasabi ng bawat linya,” Vice explained.
When it was Ryan’s turn, he delivered a short but emotional message about his former fiancée.
“Ako’y may dating kasintahan. At dati kaming nagmamahalan. Pero 'di pumayag ang tadhana. Kaya hindi kami nag-tuloy sa dambana,” Ryan said.
The simple yet poignant lines appeared to hit Ryan emotionally, prompting his fellow hosts to embrace him and offer their support.
Ryan was previously engaged to Paola. However, their wedding plans did not push through, eventually leading to their separation.
In June 2026, Ryan confirmed that he was single again, putting an end to speculations about the status of his relationship with Paola.
