IN PHOTOS: John Legend: I want to be the best you ever had!

MANILA, Philippines- “It’s good to be back!”

After five years since his last show here, John Legend visited Manila again for his “All of Me” tour.

He opened the show with the song “We Made Love,” and afterwards told the crowd, “Manila, tonight is the night. I want to be the best you ever had!”

He set the mood as he performed “Tonight,” and made the crowd cheer when he said, “I missed you, Manila! Did you miss me?” and continued to serenade everyone with his earlier singles like “Let’s Get Lifted,” “Used to Love You” and “Maxine” which he said is the name of his grandmother.

“She’s so happy I named my songs after her. I'm just not sure if she listened closely to the lyrics of the song,” he joked, since the song is somehow about heartbreak.

After a bit of heartbreak songs, Legend performed ballads which talks about new found love like “Again, “P.D.A.,”  “Save Room” and “Who Do You Think We Are?”

Before performing the song “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” he said that he dedicates this song to his grandmother, “not the one named Maxine, the other one,” he said, laughing.

“What you hear tonight, it’s pretty much me and my grandmother. She passed away when I was 10 and she didn't see all of this happened. So I dedicate this song to her tonight.”

Since he noticed that most of his audience are couples, he said, “Some of you on date night tonight? I'll set you up the rest of the night. Love is in the air, and for those single, who knows, you find one as well tonight.”

He then serenaded everyone with his singles “You and I” and “Caught Up.” Of course, his hit single “Ordinary People” is one of the crowd favorites.

After performing “Cloud Nine,” Legend went down the stage and the lights went off. The crowd then chanted “We want more.” Of course there’s more since he haven’t performed yet his hit single “All of Me.”

So he went back on the stage, then asked, "Can I sing one more song, Manila?” and started playing on his piano the intro of “All of Me.”

Before finally ending the night, Legend told his fans, “Thank you, Manila! I had a great time! Enjoy the rest of the night!”
