'Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan' represents Philippines in Oscars
MANILA, Philippines- “Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” will represent the Philippines in the Oscars.
Film Academy of the Philippines head Leo Martinez announced Wednesday that the movie will be the country's for the Best Foreign Language Film category of the award-giving body next year.
Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan was directed by Lav Diaz. It tackles three intertwining stories of a law student that commits double murder, a father takes the blame on a crime that he didn't commit, and a mother wanders to the countryside to find redemption.
The film won several awards including Audience Award (Feature Film Competition) at the IBAFF Murcia International Film Festival 2014 and Best Film at the Pancevo International Film Fest in Serbia.
The film stars Sid Lucero, Angeli Bayani, and Archie Alemania.
