'KPop Demon Hunters' star EJAE unveils proposal photos

MANILA, Philippines — Korean-American artist Kim Eun-jae, better known as EJAE, is still on cloud nine following the success of "KPop Demon Hunters" and her engagement to music producer Sam Kim.
EJAE is the singing voice of the character Rumi and co-wrote many of the film's soundtrack, including the viral hit "Golden," which she sings with Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami (the singing voices of characters Mira and Zoey).
The singer-songwriter announced her engagement to Kim, her boyfriend of eight years, last November, but only shared photos of the proposal last January 26 on her Instagram account.
A carousel post shows images of EJAE and Kim, including the latter getting down on one knee in a decorated garden.
One picture even had a cake that read "Hapee Engajmint Sam + Ejay," written in the style of the birthday cake from "Harry Potter."
"Memories," EJAE simply captioned the post accompanied by a purple heart. Her "KPop Demon Hunters" co-stars Arden Cho, Ken Jeong, and Kevin Woo were among those that left supportive messages in the comments.
The celebrity couple's wedding will be sometime later this year as EJAE is currently focused on her career and is still focused on the awards trail for "KPop Demon Hunters."
The film recently won Best Motion Picture - Animated and Best Original Song - Motion Picture at the Golden Globes, where EJAE gave an emotional speech about redirection, a reference to her previous ambitions to becoming a K-pop idol.
"KPop Demon Hunters" is competing for similar categories in the Academy Awards and has five nominations at the Grammy Awards.
Four of the nominations are for "Golden" — Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Remixed Recording (by David Guetta).
