MANILA, Philippines — Actor Albie Casiño believes he is now more vocal towards problems in the Philippines as he's now a father.

Albie recently called out "Pinoy Big Brother" winner and civil engineer Slater Young, one of the developers behind the controversial Monterrazas de Cebu project.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Albie expressed his frustration at Slater's silence over the issue hounding his development, thi as social media users called it out as among the reasons for deadly flash floods in Cebu.

"Nung nagsisimula 'yung project, sinasabi niya na hindi raw mangyayari (harmful impacts). 'Yung sinasabi nilang hindi mangyayari ay nangyari. So, I just wanna know," the actor said.

"'Di ba? Parang walang masyadong usapan about it nung nagsisimula. But, 'di ba? I guess that's selective outrage," he went on. "And even if I did know them personally, I don't think I'd stop from talking about it."

Albie recalled going viral during the pandemic for calling out a former president, and shortly after that promised his parents he wouldn't be so vocal when concerning politics.

However things changed when he became a father, "I have a son, so I guess I'm more political now because, dati naman, wala naman akong paki kung anong nangyayari sa iba, 'di ba? But now that I have a son, I want to leave a better future for him."

The actor lamented the current state of the Philippines — bringing up videos of people on roofs to avoid floods — and again brought up his son as the reason why he's more empathetic now.

"We've already had our revolution. We've had two, 'di ba? And then, it's still the same. So, hindi ko na alam kung anong mangyayari," he added.

Albie encouraged Filipinos to call out every corrupt officials and to hold them accountable.

Asked for his message to Slater, Albie said, "As a man, maybe speak up. Say something, 'Condolences to the families, to the people who lost loved ones,' kahit 'yun man lang."
