Home entertainment gets upgraded
An entertainment-studded launch was what the media and special guests recently witnessed when a telco giant marked an “exciting milestone.”
PLDT Home recently upgraded fiber unli all plans, with world-class content partners Cignal, Netflix and HBO Max now part of its roster.
What PLDT called an “exciting milestone” in ultimate home entertainment was presented during “Press Play,” a spectacular night of sound and showmanship, as PLDT senior vice president and head of consumer business John Palanca led the announcement of the unli-all plans.
“We’re celebrating a milestone yet again to mark our decades-long leadership in the fiber broadband market,” said Palanca.
“PLDT Home has the most expensive fiber footprint and continues to be with the dominant market share in the country. But let me also highlight the last two years, we at PLDT Home have raised the bar for connectivity in the Philippines. We actually made a high speed 10 gigabytes available to our new residents,” he added.
Last year, PLDT Home launched its new innovation Always On, the first-of-its-kind smart, hybrid modem that provides fiber and LTE (long term evolution) back-up to keep your home connected at all times.
He said, “Our flagship offers are fiber and unli-all plans. It’s trusted for fiber-cast, reliable speed and even unlimited calls. Now, we strengthened that by providing entertainment through Cignal with its local and international channels, Netflix subscription for multiple screens at home for top-trending movies and mini-series.”
“We will continue to keep adding and adding to these plans, as we build up the lifestyle brand, to make sure that we become the key entertainment hub at home with our fiber-fast connectivity.”
Beyond streaming and high-speed connectivity, Palanca also announced the access of subscribers to over 200 PC games with an IGV (Inlet Guide Vanes) pass for gaming for an entire year.
“The new offerings are now bundled with our plans leveraging all the content, together with our fiber, high-speed connectivity. There are so many digital services to choose from using the high-speed connection. We at PLDT Home are here to give every Filipino family the ultimate home entertainment experience,” Palanca stressed.
“We are not just about fast, connected and reliable Internet connectivity. We are here for you, working our best to enrich your digital lifestyle at home in every possible way,” he concluded.
Drag queen Budalyn, who competed in Japan for dance supremacy, led the guest artists who performed in the evening event.
The night’s highlight were stand-up comedy acts delivered by Alex Calleja, Israel Benaobra and Yuki Horikoshi known as The Comedy Crew, who brought in the laughs. Calleja recently starred in his very own stand-up show, “Tamang Panahon,” on Netflix.
There was also the performance by rock band Kjwan, led by its vocalist, Marc Abaya.
Rising star and former “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” housemate Vince Maristela was among PLDT Home’s special guests.
The “Press Play” media event was hosted by Mister Pilipinas Eco International 2025 Kitt Cortez, with DJ Arra Gunio lending their talents to make the night an affair to remember. The event further cemented PLDT Home’s position as the Philippines’ telco leader in home entertainment.
