Ashtine Olviga and Andres Muhlach, dubbed as AshDres by fans, didn’t fail to bring the kilig during the “Vivarkada: The Ultimate Fandom and Grand Concert,” held Friday night at the Smart Araneta
Coliseum.

After performing their respective songs, they exchanged earnest and sweet messages on stage, much to the delight of the audience.

Hours before the event, The STAR and another media outlet had the chance to catch up with the two, and they told us about their behind-the-scenes kilig moments while rehearsing.

Ashtine recalled that Andres would offer his help every time she got confused when practicing their song and dance number. And that gesture from Andres made her heart flutter.

“Siguro kapag yung nalilito ako, he would guide me. I easily get confused sa steps but siya, natatandaan niya. So he would guide me,” said she.

“Behind the scenes, we are just rehearsing together as a full unit, everyone, with Viva One stars together and we’ve just been rehearsing and having fun,” Andres told this paper in a separate interview.

Andres’ parents, Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, were not present during the fan con but his grandmother was there to support him.

“My grandmother would also attend my other events. She’s always supportive,” he said. Andres also shared the stage with his twin sister, Atasha, during the grand event alongside other Viva One artists.

For Ashtine and Andres, events such as the “Vivarkada: The Ultimate Fandom and Grand Concert” were more than just performances, they were an opportunity for them to give back to the fans who supported them.

“I really want to perform. So, it’s like, it’s our way of giving back (to fans). At the same time, they also help us to achieve kung ano yung gusto naming gawin,” declared Ashtine.

It’s a sort of give-and-take situation, she added. “This wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for them. They’re very happy sa nakikita nilang small or big wins namin. And we will give our best tonight because this wouldn’t happen if not for the support that they are giving us.”

Their onscreen partnership has also captured the global audience, from Asia and the Middle East to other countries. And for that, they are also grateful.

“I was really surprised. Some have mounted block screenings like in Dubai and other provinces (in the Philippines),” commented Ashtine. “We are really glad because we didn’t expect na maraming nagmamahal sa amin. And that’s what’s more important, they love us. It’s a different feeling that more people get to support you. Mas maraming masaya sa achievements niyo.” The young actress also hoped to meet their international fans soon.

Andres likewise thanked their followers for their immense love and support. “But above all, I want to thank those who’ve been supporting us, not only (us), but even my family and my sister,” he said. “I wanna thank all of you, guys, who have been supporting us the longest time. Kakaiba talaga. I would never have expected it to be like this. And I’m just grateful for all the blessings that I received.”

When asked about their closeness level, on a scale of one to 10, since working together for “Ang Mutya ng Section E” and now that they have an upcoming movie titled “Minamahal,” Ashtine said, “Ten. Sabihin ko sana 11, pero sige 10 na lang.”

Meanwhile, the second teaser for their big-screen debut, “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna,” written and directed by Jason Paul “JP” Laxamana, has just been released.

“Currently, we’re still shooting pa rin. Pero matatapos na kami very soon. A lot in store for everybody,” teased Andres.

Ashtine shared that they’ve become more comfortable with each other while filming.

“Mas nagtutulungan kami ngayon. Mas open kami sa kung ano yung mga concerns namin,” she added.
