Sparkle artists Isko, Kelvin and Elle look forward to acting and hosting projects
Isko Moreno feels honored and humbled to be part of the Sparkle GMA Artist Center family and wants to go back to acting and hosting.

MANILA, Philippines — Isko Moreno, Kelvin Miranda and Elle Villanueva have been recently welcomed into the folds of Sparkle GMA Artist Center via its annual event, “Signed for Stardom.” They are described as the matinee idol-turned-public servant, the Gen Z star and the fast-rising leading lady, respectively.

Isko is back in showbiz to reinvent himself, while Kelvin and Elle will continue to flex their acting muscles.

“I think any artist needs to be managed,” answered Isko when asked if established stars like him have to be under the tutelage of the Kapuso talent management arm in the question-and-answer segment with the media. “I do believe in the capacity and ability of Sparkle. Actually, I’m honored and humbled to be part of this Sparkle family.”

“You know that they have already produced so many stars, managed (their careers) properly, and brought them to stardom, marami na silang produkto, so I think I’m in good hands,” added he.

Isko has been seen as Tiagong Dulas in the primetime show “Black Rider,” with Ruru Madrid as Elias in the lead role, which tests his skills in essaying a role.

According to the GMA Entertainment website, Ruru’s Elias seeks the help of Isko’s Tiagong Dulas, a former member of the Golden Scorpion, for the former’s quest for justice.

Isko recalled that his first taping day in “Black Rider” was in Quiapo, a familiar place to the former Manila City mayor. Isko had to make some adjustments at first but eventually found his groove.

Kelvin Miranda looks forward to having more opportunities with the Kapuso talent management arm. He will soon be seen as Adamus, the keeper of Brilyante ng Tubig, in ‘Encantadia Chronicles:Sang’gre.’

“Yes, I would like to go back to acting and hosting,” said he. “I really want to entertain the people, and I’m happy to be a bridge (for) GMA 7 as a network to entertain and help inspire our televiewers.”

Asked about how Sparkle has helped Elle and Kelvin be more successful in the entertainment industry, the female lead star of revenge drama “Makiling” and the drama series “Return to Paradise,” had this to say: “First of all, they would always listen to our concerns. Of course, it can’t be avoided to have issues. They would listen and always find solutions to our concerns. Magaling talaga ang Sparkle mag-handle ng mga artists nila.”

Elle shared that the Sparkle team is like a parent and serves as an important support system.

“As I’ve said earlier, I was shy (when I entered show business). They helped me come out of my shell, and be my own and have my own identity,” shared she.

For Kelvin, one wouldn’t be successful, in any field, without proper care.

“Ang Sparkle at GMA, inaalagaan po kami ng maayos kaya mas nagkakaroon kami ng mataas ng kumpiyansa sa mga sarili at talento namin (Sparkle and GMA are taking care of us well. That’s why we have confidence in ourselves as well as in our talents), para mapagpabuti namin at maabot namin yung pagiging isang successful.”

During the event, the stars were given a brief video presentation about their accomplishments and work journeys.

Isko had a moment to look back on, saying, “I’m always grateful to God. Without him, siguro, I’m nobody. But I’m also grateful to GMA.”

Elle Villanueva wishes to foray into doing action and hosting.

He jumpstarted his entertainment career with GMA via the afternoon show, “That’s Entertainment,” led by starmaker German “Kuya Germs” Moreno.

“I was given opportunities. So, when I signed up with Sparkle, I said, ‘It’s good to be home, to be back,’” said Isko, adding that “If I may borrow a line from one of the beauty queens (who are also part of the Sparkle family), this is a way to reinvent myself again in show business, my first love.”

“I mean the industry that gave me the opportunity to better myself in a particular field and it cannot be denied that it catapulted me to another career. It helped me,” continued he. “I’m looking forward to (doing) more work. When I’m into something, I always focus (on it).”

Speaking of future projects, Kelvin, the multi-talented artist said, “I look forward to having more opportunities and of course, kailangan ko pang galingan ng husto sa lahat ng aspeto, lalo sa craft na meron ako (I need to better myself in all aspects, especially in my craft).”

After watching him in shows such as the sci-fi drama Unica Hija and the action-comedy series Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis, he will star in the upcoming “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” where he plays the first male Sang’gre named Adamus, the keeper and protector of Brilyante ng Tubig. Kelvin couldn’t deny feeling pressured, but he uses it as inspiration to work well.

Elle, on the other hand, shared that there’s a lot she wants to foray into, TV career-wise.

“Aside from doing drama, I want to try my hand at action and I (also) want to explore hosting, I’m thankful that I’m with Sparkle. I’m in good hands.”
