Xyriel Manabat shares thoughts on RoxChie, 'Senior High' season 2 

MANILA, Philippines — If one would ask Xyriel Manabat, she would love to see a continuation of the hit teen thriller drama "Senior High," including her successful pairing with Elijah Canlas' character, Archie. 

Xyriel shared that she and her castmates would want to see a new season of their recently ended drama, and teased about the twists of her and Archie's characters, whose complicated love story ended in a cliffhanger after they graduated from high school. 

In the show, Xyriel plays Roxie, the sassy yet smart high school girl who tries every means to make ends meet. Elijah plays Archie, a rich boy with a temper who often clashes with her. 

"Ang sabi po ni Ma'am Cory [Vidanes] nu'ng finale, gusto daw po niya ng part two. Gusto po naming lahat, of course. Tinatanong-tanong din po. Inaasar 'yung director, 'yung writer. Baka naman po," shared Xyriel. 

The series is written by Kay Conlu Brondial, Bridgette Rebucca and Jason Mondragon. It is directed by Onat Diaz, Andoy Ranay, Jojo Saguin and Rico Navarro. 

"Eh feeling ko po dahil sa pagdidilang-anghel ni Ma'am Cory at sanang totoong tuloy. Pero hangga't hindi kasi kami nagti-taping, ayokong umasa. Baka po kasi ma-preempt pero gusto po naming lahat. Sana po talaga matuloy. 'Pag nag-start na po 'yung taping, doon po ako sure na magsasabi na, 'Yes, meron po,'" Xyriel said. 

When Philstar.com followed the question with how she would want to continue RoxChie's storyline for a possible new season, Xyriel revealed she would want to see how their characters were originally written prior to their story conference and taping. 

"Siguro dudugtungan ko 'yung kwento nila kung paano po pinitch sa amin 'yung unang story, 'yung hindi pa po namin nate-taping. Bago po kami nag-taping, nag-storycon, ibang-iba po 'yung story nina RoxChie. 

"'Yun po 'yung inaabangan ko kung paano nila ipapasok kasi alam ko, ganon pa rin e. Kumbaga iba lang po 'yung twist, iba lang po 'yung pinanggalingan pero alam ko, doon at doon pa rin darating. So abangan n'yo po kung ano 'yung tinutukoy ko pero maganda and big opportunity po siya para sa akin. 

Appreciation for RoxChie fans

Xyriel also shared her appreciation for RoxChie fans, whom she described were very creative and generous. 

In her years as a child star and now a young adult star, it was the first time that she felt an overwhelming support by fans who were enamored with her pairing with Elijah. 

"Sobrang unexpected kasi first time ko pong maka-feel ng ganon. Ang dati ko lang naman nakaka-love team si Kuya Zaijian [Jaranilla, who also stars in the show and initially played her boyfried]. Pareho kaming bungal, pareho kaming naka-nganga pag tumatawa o si Bugoy [Carino, another child star]. 'Yun 'yung kinalakihan ko. 

"Unexpected. Ganito pala 'yung feeling na may sumu-support sa inyo. Ganon ka-effective 'yung chemistry and doon ko na-feel na 'Ay, eto pala 'yung chemistry para sa kanila.' Sobrang thankful po kasi alam nyo, sobra silang ma-effort. 

"Grabe sila mag-edit ng videos namin. Gumagawa sila ng sariling movie, sariling trailer. Grabe 'yung creativity nila para lang doon sa entertainment na binibigay namin. And grabe sila magbigay ng gifts, ng words of affirmation. Sobrang thankful po. Ang sarap-sarap sa heart," Xyriel shared.
