MANILA, Philippines — Singers Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz had to rush going into their AirBnB's bomb shelter while they were in conflict-stricken Israel last weekend.

The pair was supposed to have a concert in Israel but on the day that they were supposed to hold it last Saturday, explosions were heard in Israel.

Pilipino Star Ngayon columnist Gorgy Rula was able to talk to Julie Anne's manager, Daryl Zamora, after their group landed in the Philippines last Monday.

According to Zamora, they woke up to explosions on the day of their concert "Luv Trip Na, Laff Trip Pa" with Boobay last Saturday.

They rushed to their AirBnB's bomb shelter, which Rula was able to see through the pictures shown to him. It was a simple room with two single beds. Zamora said they were told that all establishments in Israel are required to have bomb shelters in case bombings or explosions occur.

Israel and Palestine have always been in conflict for decades. Last Saturday was the recent incident after Hamas, the militant group that governs the Palestinian territories in Gaza strip, launched a campaign against Israel.

"Si Rayver naliligo, biglang sumabog. Takbo ulit kami.

Their group was unable to sleep throughout Saturday and Sunday due to the bombings.

Rayver asked Daryl if he could buy them a rosary. Daryl went out after he had not heard bombings to buy it in the mall.

After the bombings ended, he immediately hailed a taxi and went back to their AirBnB. Their group was not able to sleep again after hearing another round of explosions.

Dahil 90 seconds, babagsak ‘yung bomba,” he said.

They were able to fly back on their original flight back to Manila on Monday.

Kasi lahat umayon sa amin ultimo ‘yung flight namin kinabukasan, hindi na-cancel,” he said.

He also shared how Julie Anne felt regarding their traumatic experience in Israel.

Hindi ko alam kung... kaya talagang, enjoy your life to the fullest talaga. Kasi life is too short. Hindi mo alam e,” Zamora ended.
