Robin Padilla explains decision not to join politics
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actor Robin Padilla cited his godmother, former Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, as his reason for not pursuing a senate bid in the upcoming midterm elections.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Robin said that despite having a high ranking in surveys, the late senator would not have allowed him to run for a political post.
Frankly she will tell me You will be killed and silence! That is no place for lions because that place is a crocodile farm. You will be eaten alive in their very muddy and stagnant little Pond,” he continued.
The veteran actor remembered his wedding in the Bilibid, where the fierce senator attended a momentous event in his life.
He recalled what Miriam told him before she went out from the penitentiary after the wedding.
