Kris Aquino, Take 3
Three reasons why Kris Aquino will bid the Year of the Horse with a light heart and say hello to the Year of the Sheep with a big smile:
She has made peace with ex-husband James Yap (who’s romancing happily ever after with Italian girlfriend Michela Cazzola, with whom Kris is good friends now),
She continues to reign as Queen of Commercials, aside from being Queen of All Media (her recent endorsement is Chowking from which she got a franchise; she has put up a branch at Ali Mall), and
She’s confident that Feng Shui 2, which she’s co-producing (under her own Kris Cojuangco Aquino Productions) with Star Cinema, co-star Coco Martin and director Chito Roño, will be among the Top 3 grossers in this month’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
Kris said that Feng Shui 2, one of the three horror entries (including Regal Films’ Shake, Rattle & Roll XV and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles which is co-produced by GMA Films, Reality Entertainment and Agosto Dos Pictures owned by Dingdong Dantes who stars in it), is bigger than the first one, “a cinema experience that will make moviegoers feel that they are watching an epic,” made more haunting by the theme song sung by a child about something his mother has brought home.
To know more about Kris who broadcasts anyway every detail of her life on her ABS-CBN show Aquino and Abunda Tonight (with Boy Abunda), Conversations put her on the “Take 3” test, first taken by Robin Padilla years ago. As you will find out, the test is very revealing as Kris talks not only about her career and personal life but also about a lot more.
- 3 reasons why I am a happy person now
“My sons are exceptionally loving and are good boys.
“My sisters and my brother and I all get along and we are mutually supportive of each other.
“Boy’s good health has been restored.”
- 3 persons that I have forgiven (in 2014)
“Nobody in particular. I try not to hold on to grudges or sama ng loob.”
- 3 persons that I hope to make peace with before the year ends
“Nobody in particular either. Everybody I’m close to I truly love and appreciate, and I believe the closeness and appreciation are mutual.”
- 3 mistakes that I hope not to commit again
“Hehehehe! At peace and contented, so not too worried about what I may have done wrong because I’ve learned to celebrate all I’ve done right.”
- 3 plans I want to accomplish in 2015
“Expand my fast-food franchises. I own the Chowking at Ali Mall, investing in another fast-food franchise in the south next year, and looking for one more.
“Create my own Kris app that highlights my other interests like cooking, home organization and travel.
“Go on a faith-based travel experience around Italy (the Cathedrals, St. Francis of Assisi, Padre Pio, etc.).”
- 3 things that I cannot do without
“Reading, quiet time every day to pray, and eight hours of sleep.”
- 3 things that I like about myself
“I am cheerful, helpful and faithful.”
- 3 things that I don’t like about myself
“I’m maluho, I have too many things (I long to simplify and de-clutter), and I don’t know how to travel ‘light.’”
- 3 things that I do before I go to sleep
“I take a hot shower, I sip chamomile-lavender tea and I read.”
- 3 things that make my day as soon as I wake up
“Coffee (brewed, no sugar, just a lot of milk), a Post-it note from Bimb, and fresh flowers in our living room/kitchen/dining area.”
- 3 (foreign) celebrities that I want to interview
“President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Apple president Tim Cook.”
- 3 things that I always remind my children Joshua and Bimby about
“To pray, to say please and thank you, and to not feel entitled because fame and power are temporary but character is forever.”
- 3 places that I want to visit soon
“We are spending New Year in Japan (in Niseko, Hokkaido, for the snow), I want to go back to Hokkaido in July to see the lavender fields, and I want to bring my sons either on a Mediterranean cruise or an Alaskan cruise.”
- 3 most memorable places that I have visited
“Kris TV went to Japan (I am in love with Japan!), we went to Osaka, Nara, Yamanashi and Tokyo. It was memorable because Ate Ballsy and Pinky were with me, and Viel and my sons joined us in Tokyo.
“We spent Josh’s birthday (June 4) in Shang Boracay, all my sisters and pamangkins joined us.
“I had a very short New York City trip, four days, but I got to watch Eminem live! (I came home because this was when Boy was hospitalized and someone had to take care of Aquino and Abunda Tonight.)”
- 3 signs that indicate if I don’t like somebody
“I generally like people. Mana sa Dad ko.”
- 3 traits that I’d like to see in my future husband
“Intelligence and integrity, ambition supported by focused discipline, and sustained fidelity coupled with lasting love.”
- 3 suitors (no names if you prefer it that way) that I politely turned down this year
“They deserve their peace, so I choose to keep quiet. And I still pray for someone to share my life with, so keeping quiet might just improve the odds.”
- 3 reasons why people should watch Feng Shui 2
“Chito Roño is the horror genius. Coco Martin is our most brilliant actor today, and it is a full cinematic experience.”
- 3 actors that I like to work with
“Wala na. Tita Malou Santos asked me if I wanted to do a drama for 2015 and I said I need to be true to my core, and I am most comfortable and most rewarded being a mother. So I would love to be the mom of Kathryn Bernardo or Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, Julia Barretto, Iñigo Pascual or the two young ladies really close to me, Kim Chiu and Erich Gonzales.”
- 3 wishes this Christmas
“That Noy will be given the best homestretch possible for his presidential term.
“That my favorite aunt, my Auntie Passy (mom’s youngest sister), becomes cancer-free.
“And that my two sons will continue to be good, kindhearted, polite, not spoiled, and loving for the rest of our lives.”
