Nikki Gil happy with dating life; says winning an acting award is a 'bonus'

MANILA, Philippines- Nikki Gil says she's "exclusively dating" a non-showbiz guy.

"I'm very happy with where I'm at," she said in an interview Tuesday, during the "Hawak Kamay" family day at Hospicio De San Jose. "I keep it as private as possible. But yeah, I'm enjoying myself, I'm very happy."

Asked if she already said "yes" to the businessman she's dating, Nikki laughed and said, "tsaka na natin pag-usapan ang ganyang mga bagay. Basta I'm dating, I'm happy. I guess exclusively dating if you will."

Meanwhile,Nikki is happy to be part of another primetime project after her last project "Maria Mercedes" starring Jessy Mendiola.

Nikki will be part of the upcoming family-oriented series "Hawak Kamay" starring Piolo Pascual, Iza Calzado, Zyriel Manabat, Zaijan Jaranilla, Andrea Brillantes, and Yesha Camille. 

Here she'll play the role of Meann, "I play Papa P's girlfriend, girlfriend ni Gin. Nagtrabaho siya sa cruise ship, at noong mga panahon na medyo lost si Gin, hindi niya alam gagawin sa life niya, ando'n ako."

The Kapamilya singer-actress is flattered that the network and the public are starting to notice her talent in acting. But then she said singing is really her first love.

Asked if she hopes to win an acting award she replied, "ako naman ginagawa ko lang ang trabaho ko. Ine-enjoy ko lang siya, I'm just really passionate about it. If I happen to get recognition along the way, bonus na lang po 'yon."
