Anne proud of sister Jasmine; excited over E! News feature

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Anne Curtis is proud of her sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith, who is part of the film “Transit.”

The film is the Philippine’s bet for the Foreign Language film category in the 86th Oscars Awards.

The Kapamilya TV host-actress is glad that people are now starting to see her sister’s talents.

“I’m so proud of Jasmine,” said Anne in an interview Wednesday night, September 25.

“For her to win an award right away, I mean, it’s an amazing achievement from an award-winning body such as Cinemalaya na talagang— that’s legit. So I’m so proud of her to continue to strive for the best.”

Winning an award and being part of a film that will represent our country abroad is such a big achievement for Jasmine to step out from her sister’s shadow.

When the Kapatid actress started in the entertainment industry, she was mostly described as Anne Curtis’ sister.

“I don’t think any ate would want that, any ate would ever want her younger sister to be known as her sister.

“So it makes me so proud kasi, especially ‘yong na-touch ni jasmine, teretoryo ‘yan na hindi ko pa nagagawa, e, ‘yong indie scene parang na-miss out ko ‘yong chance na ‘yon. Pero si Jasmine talaga she’s excelling so much in that industry.

“It makes me so proud. She just came out with another film, “Puti.” So alam mo ‘yon, she deserves in her own right to make a name for herself.”

If given the right script and role, Anne says she’d be open to do an Indie film as well.

First Pinay in E! News

Meanwhile, Anne is very excited for the E! News feature about her dubbed “E! News Asia Special: Anne Curtis.”

She is the very first Filipina celebrity who was featured in the said show.

Some of the personalities that were interviewed for the special feature are her family, Boy Abunda, Sam Milby, and Luis Manzano.

“So excited ako at the same time kinakabahan ako, kasi parang ano kaya sinabi ng mga ‘to. Kasi they’re key people in my life, na may na-share ako. So hindi ko alam kung ano mangyayari.”

Aside from her noontime show “It’s Showtime,” Anne will be busy as well for her upcoming film “The Gifted,” which is a dark comedy directed by Chris Martinez.
