ABS-CBN airs Ituwid Natin

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ituwid Natin, a discussion of the gains and lessons of EDSA I and II, resumed recently with its sixth episode that compared the leadership and management styles of Presidents Cory Aquino, Fidel Ramos and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Host Toni Gonzaga anchors the show with resource persons.

The next episode will tackle government-related irregularities which paved the way for the completion of ground-breaking projects like the EDSA-to-Roxas Blvd. extension during the Aquino administration, the sale of the Fort Bonifacio property by the Ramos government and the controversial Diosdado Macapagal Blvd. at the Pasay reclamation area under President Arroyo.

Next to be discussed are purported milestone projects which may have been implemented but failed to get desired results. The episode focuses on Aquino’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, granting of special powers to Ramos to address the energy crisis in the early ‘90s and Arroyo’s scuttled agricultural program due to the fertilizer scam.

On Thursday, Ituwid Natin will delve on allegedly anomalous projects which continue to have ill effects long after they were completed like MRT 3, NAIA 3 and the IPPs.

Ituwid Natin closes its second week with a review of the failure of CARP, the Expo Centennial fiasco in Clark and the fertilizer scam.

The advocacy program airs Monday to Friday on ABS-CBN’s Umagang kay Ganda and TV Patrol. Sponsors are the Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office, San Miguel Corp., Development Bank of the Philippines, Petron, Viva Group of Companies, Philippines Film Studios, Inc., Funtasia Entertainment Studios and Pangarap ng Pinoy Movement.
