Mel & Joey tackles text scams tonight

MANILA, Philippines - On GMA 7’s Mel & Joey segment Babala tonight, viewers are warned against unscrupulous texters advising that they’ve won in a lottery. To claim their prize, they must first send a certain amount of load or a donation.

On Hanep Bahay, Kapuso hosts Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon visit the residence of a medical couple who personally designed and decorated their abode. The ceiling is made of mat or banig and posts are covered with shampoo material or gugo. The show visits Café Juanita in Burgos Circle at The Fort famous for its cuisine, furniture and fixtures all for sale.

On food trip, the show features Mary Grace of Mary Grace Café, Pixie of Pixie’s Bangus, Rowena of Rowena’s Pasalubong and Mang Bok of Mang Bok’s Lechon Manok. Ten finalists of StarStruck V display their talent on singing and dancing.

The show also goes to Lipa City, site of the miracle of the falling rose petals in the ’70s and ’80s.
