Young JV ends 2009 with a bang

MANILA, Philippines - Young JV continues to win plaudits for his endeavors not only in his music career but beyond it.

As 2009 draws to a close, Young JV finds himself with another song from his critically and commercially acclaimed debut CD, Ready Or Not, in the charts.

Just weeks after it premiered on MYX, the video for the Young JV song Don’t Know You featuring Heidi Riego now hangs tough inside the Pinoy MYX Countdown, in the company of songs by Ely Buendia, SpongeCola, Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista and Hale.

The success of Don’t Know You follows in the heels of his first single, That Girl, which also stormed the same charts when it was released a few months ago. The video for Don’t Know You is directed by Treb Monteras III and it shows Young JV in chill-out mood.

Talks are rife that because of Young JV’s strong presence in the local music scene, the camp of a famous Korean girl group is eyeing to get him to front act for its forthcoming major concert in Manila next year.

If that plan pushes through, then the growing number of Young JV fans can look forward to two concerts from their idol since he is also in the thick of putting together another concert next year that bills him alongside Billy Crawford and Jay R.

Young JV recently donated to ABS-CBN’s Sagip Kapamilya. He personally took the donation to the network and even repacked goods and visited one of the hard hit areas by the storms along with other Kapamilya stars.

Young JV sang at the Private Secondary School Administrators Association of the Philippines 2009 Mr. PRISAAP event held in Iloilo City at the Centennial Resort Hotel. The artist himself won the Mr. PRISAAP title in 2006 which was attended by 800 students.

Young JV also performed at the AFP Educational Benefit System recognition night titled Salute To Success, which had AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Victor Ibrado as guest of honor. Proceeds from Ready Or Not CD go to his Lahing Bayani Foundation which supports 15 students (all orphans of soldiers) through the Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office.Young JV entered into the agreement with the office a few months ago in a special ceremony held at the Tejeros Hall of the AFP Commissioned Officers Club inside Camp Aguinaldo.
