Kim doesn't want to take it easy
Just because she’s on top of the heap doesn’t mean Kim Chiu should relax and take it easy. New winners of reality shows are born all the time, and they could just dislodge her from her throne tomorrow.
That’s why the PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) Teen Edition grand winner admits she feels nervous. She can’t control the onslaught of new reality shows and the winners that emerge from them. All she can do is hope ABS-CBN will continue to give her important projects fans will go on watching on TV and the movies.
She shouldn’t fret. My Girl, Kim’s romantic series with Gerald Anderson, may have ended, but the Star Network has replaced it with My Only Hope.
The new series should make Kimerald fans rejoice. It pairs Kim with Gerald once more, and the same cast members as well. This time though, Kim’s character is more mature. She has a goal in life, while Gerald’s character is an artist.
Kim is beside herself with joy.
“I’m thankful to ABS-CBN and Kimerald fans who stay on the set from morning till night,” says Kim.
Fans should not set their hopes too high on a real-life Kim-Gerald romance, though. Kim herself is careful about labeling their real-life relationship as something as serious as the boyfriend-girlfriend type.
“We have no commitment with each other,” Kim reveals. “He can court girls and I can entertain suitors. Problem is I don’t have them.”
Or perhaps Kim hasn’t noticed Enchong Dee, who has openly expressed his crush on her. Kim’s reaction is a sunshiny smile and playing-it-safe words.
“I thank Enchong for what he told everybody about me. At least now I know somebody likes me. Enchong is a nice guy. We met during one of my tapings,” Kim relates.
But she’s quick to tone down the compliment when told that Enchong said the same thing to Empress Schuck.
“Enchong is such a chick boy!” Kim retorts.
She’s not about to let this bother her, though. Kim would rather focus her energy on saving money to buy a house for her siblings in her native Cebu. It matters not that Kim only rents a condo unit in Manila and has to have a house of her own. Her siblings’ welfare is more important to her. And Kim should rather share her blessings with her family first.
She has even more blessings to share, now that Herbpharm, Inc. tapped Kim as the first celebrity endorser of Bioclear herbal food supplement.
Kim’s Oriental looks made her the company executives’ first and only choice to pitch their product. Bioclear, they explain, contains herbal ingredients long been used as the secret of clear skin and good looks in Asia.
Kim takes the capsule twice a day, thrice if she has a period and her teenaged skin is more prone to pimples.
“I get pimples when I’m stressed out and I lack rest,” Kim goes on. And it doesn’t help any that her oil glands, like any typical teenager’s, are more active at this stage.
So confident is she of the product, Kim has convinced her older brother to try it. He now takes it four times a day to prevent pimples.
Like sister, like kuya. That’s the tie that binds, and keeps Kim strong, in front or behind the camera.
