Kris Aquino is back on screen in new Netflix collab

MANILA, Philippines — The chika is real! Kris Aquino has officially made her long-anticipated showbiz comeback through Netflix.
The “Queen of All Media” is back on screen in a new collaboration with the streaming giant as its official C.H.I.K.A. (Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis).
Netflix Philippines earlier released teasers suggesting it was hiring a “Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis,” a.k.a. C.H.I.K.A., with qualifications seemingly tailor-made for Kris.
Among the qualifications listed were being a recognized figure in entertainment and pop culture, having over 40 years of experience across TV, film, recording and digital media, and possessing the ability to turn interviews into quotable viral moments.

In the video, Kris arrives as the newly hired boss, joining video editor Earljohn to review three clips — a snowy winter shot, an intense fight scene and a styling mishap — and sharing her observations and suggestions in her trademark candor.
Together, they refine scenes from “A Secret in Prague,” “Blood vs Duty” and “The Master Cutter” with a series of edits and visual enhancements.

The campaign highlights Kris’ recognizable commentary style while showcasing Filipino titles currently streaming on Netflix.
Netflix also announced the release dates of the episodes — yesterday, Aug. 7 (Episode 1), Aug. 14 (Episode 2) and Aug. 20 (Episode 3).
The STAR sought a statement from Netflix Philippines regarding its partnership with Kris, but none had been issued as of presstime.
On Netflix Philippines’ social media accounts, fans welcomed the return of the “OG” talk queen, with netizens saying they missed her signature voice and commentary. Others expressed happiness over seeing her looking well.
Kris’ health struggles are no secret, as she has occasionally updated her millions of social media followers about her battle with autoimmune conditions and the treatments she has undergone.
In her most recent post, Kris shared that she had once again tried another form of treatment, which she said had worked for some international celebrities and a few of her friends.
The TV host then opened up about the physical and emotional toll of her continuing health battle, saying she has endured treatments that failed and nights when the pain became so severe that she would cry until sunrise.
“I promised my sons I was going to fight until the end,” she wrote.
She said she normally tries to protect her children from seeing her suffer, stressing that “to worry is ours and not theirs.”
However, her sons remain a major source of comfort and remind her why she continues to fight.
She ended her post by asking her late mother, former President Cory Aquino, to continue watching over her as she prepared for another infusion.
“Because I have 6’3 & 6’2 giant babies who pray everyday & believe that God does answer prayers,” Kris wrote.
