Jobert Sucaldito cause of death revealed

MANILA, Philippines – Jobert Sucaldito passed away due to cardiac arrest, his son said on Monday, August 3. 

Carlo Brian Sucaldito introduced himself as the only son of the late entertainment columnist. 

“For everyone who's been asking and wanting to confirm what really happened, this will be our official statement. Sadly, Nanay Jobert passed away yesterday due to cardiac arrest (heart failure), as explained by the doctors at the Philippine Heart Center. During the incident, he suddenly collapsed and fell, causing him to hit his head, which resulted in the bruise on his forehead and the cut on his lips,” the younger Sucaldito wrote on Facebook. 

Carlo said that Sucaldito was rushed to the Providence Hospital a few weeks ago because “he was not in a good condition.” Doctors recommended for Sucaldito to be admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) but Sucaldito opted not to proceed with it. 

“If you all know Nanay, alam niyo kung gaano siya katapang at katigas ang ulo in the best way possible. He wanted to keep fighting and continue enjoying life, and he kept saying, ‘Kaya ko!’ at ‘Okay ako!’” Carlo said. 

The younger Sucaldito said he respected his father’s decion. He, together with Sucaldito’s podcast co-host Chaps Manansala, took home Sucaldito. 

Carlo said that the last two weeks spent with his father became some of his “most unforgettable moments” of his life. They went on road trips, ate out, visited places and simply had a “quality father-and-son time.” 

“Looking back, we noticed that his body was slowly getting weaker, but he never complained and never wanted anyone to worry. He always made us believe that he was okay, even when he probably wasn’t,” Carlo recalled. 

Carlo said that he and his family are grateful for the last moments they spent with Sucaldito, doing things that made him “genuinely happy.” 

Sucaldito’s wake will be at the Loyola Memorial Chapels and Crematorium until August 6. The public is cautioned against sending donations/abuloy to unverified numbers except on the ones they posted on Facebook.
