'Chika boss' Kris Aquino back onscreen to 'analyze' local shows

MANILA, Philippines — It may just be for promotional purposes, but fans are glad to see the "Queen of All Media" Kris Aquino back onscreen giving her input on the local pop culture scene.
The Philippine arm of streaming platform Netflix launched a new campaign with Kris as its "Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis" or C.H.I.K.A. for short.
A video by the streamer sees an energetic Kris rallying up the team — in reality just one editor — to review scenes from local titles, offering her signature critique on how they can be improved.
The shows Kris "reviews" are "A Secret in Prague," "The Master Cutter," and the recently concluded "Blood vs Duty," each them off receiving a unique dish of the host-actress' thoughts and opinions.
Kris has been planting the seeds for a showbiz comeback as she continues to recover from several autoimmune diseases, illnesses that have seen her temporarily live abroad and away from loved ones.
The host-actress has not participated in a long-term project since the pandemic, her last movies being "I Love You, Hater" and a cameo in "Crazy Rich Asians," both in 2018.
Aside from brief guest appearances on variety shows, Kris' last stint on television was her short-lived 2017 travel lifestyle show "Trip ni Kris." — Video from Netflix Philippines' YouTube channel
