DENR nakatanod sa wildlife trafficking

MANILA, Philippines -  Upang hindi makalabas o makapasok ang anumang wildlife shipments, pinahigpitan ni Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu ang pagbabantay ng mga tauhan sa lahat ng entry points sa bansa.

Ito ayon kay Cimatu ay upang maiwasan na magkaroon ng illegal wildlife trade sa bansa.

Nagpalabas na ng direktiba si Cimatu sa lahat ng regional directors ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) na palakasin ang surveillance sa mga points of entry para maiwasan ang wildlife trafficking.

“It is about time that we strictly enforce the provisions of Republic Act No. 9147, also known as the Wildlife Resources and Protection Act, in order for us to address the problem of wildlife trafficking in the country,” pahayag ni Cimatu.

Inatasan din ni Cimatu ang mga tauhan na palakasin ang public awareness sa kanilang mga lugar para maprotektahan ang wildlife resources ng ating bansa.
