No truth to Paulo Avelino’s reported suicide attempt, says manager

MANILA, Philippines - Paulo Avelino’s camp denied rumors claiming the Kapamilya actor recently attempted to commit suicide.

According to reports, Paulo recently suffered from anxiety attack and tried to hurt himself.

But in a statement sent to media outfits, including Philstar.com, Paulo’s manager Leo Dominguez said “there’s no truth to the rumor.”

“We were surprised and at the same time, amused to hear about it,” he said.

Dominguez added that Paulo is busy and looking forward to his upcoming projects: a soap opera with ABS-CBN titled “Oneso” and a Star Cinema movie titled Pagpag” for the Metro Manila Film Festival this December. He also just finished the movie “Status: It’s Complicated” with Regal Films.

The statement ends, “Paulo assures his fans and friends that he is doing ok and busy with work and he hopes that there will be no cause of alarm over this fabrication.”

Philstar.com and other members of the press spoke to Paulo during the press conference for the launch of LG’s G2 mobile phone on Wednesday, September 25. The 25-year-old was mum when asked about LJ Reyes and their son Ethan Akio, saying he’s “okay” and “happy.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with TV5’s news program “Aksyon” aired Thursday, September 26, Paulo refused to comment on the suicide rumor.

“There’s nothing to react about it,” he said.

Paulo added, “Happy naman. Happy. Everything’s going great so far.”
