The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Dr. Masaki Fukai, a pioneering dentist in Japan, passed away last Aug. 27 due to heart failure at the age of 65. The formal commemorative event for Fukai was held in Tokyo on Oct. 8.

“He was a fellow traveler, mentor and adviser to many Filipino dentists who never tired of giving his best to friends and colleagues in dentistry,” said Dr. Joseph D. Lim, dean of National University College of Dentistry. “His thoughts and perceptions in the many classes and seminars that he conducted will be missed, in Japan, in other countries, and here in the Philippines.”

Fukai was a constant visitor to the Philippines where he shared his knowledge on oral health care, dentistry and implantology with many Filipino students and dentists eager to learn the latest in his fields of work.
