‘Legal best practices in crafting HR code of discipline’

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -You may have your HR policies and contracts in order, but do you have an effective code of discipline aligned with the updated labor laws?

To help business owners and HR practitioners solve discipline issues with their employees, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a pioneering one-day seminar entitled “Legal Best Practices in Crafting Your HR Code of Discipline”, scheduled on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

For details and a complete list of seminars, you may log on to www.cgbp.org or call (02) 842-7148/ 59 and 556-8968/ 69; Cebu lines (032) 512-3106 or 07 or Baguio telephone (074) 423-5148.

An HR code of discipline defines what penalties employees are accountable for in case they violate the rules. When you do this right, you can fully enforce your rules without conflict and avoid disputes with your employees. This is one of the most effective ways to prevent people problems, discipline erring employees, and professionalize your workforce.

In this special one-day seminar, we will teach you how to design and craft your code of discipline the right way. We will present you the best practices to prepare, establish and implement disciplinary policies that promote not just industrial harmony but ward off any temptation to sue on the part of wayward and rogue employees. This will also provide you with ready-made templates that you can easily adopt to save you thousands of money on lawyer’s fees.

Learn all these from our experts who will share with you their secrets on crafting litigation-proof and case-ready code of discipline. This seminar will feature labor law practitioner Elvin Villanueva who is also the author of 12 best-selling labor and HR books namely: Guide on Employee Compensation and Benefits Vol. 1 & 2; Guide to Valid Dismissal of Employees; Guide on Wage Order & Minimum Wage; Gabay sa mga Karapatan ng mga OFWs; HR Forms, Notices & Contracts Vol. 1 & 2; Employee Transfer & Demotion; Leave Benefits; Guide to Valid Job Contracting and Subcontracting; & How to Pass the Bar Examination.

Another lecturer is Ramon de Leon who is the former managing director of Ayala Corporation, under the office of the lead director for infrastructure, and seconded to the various Ayala-owned subsidiaries to help in the corporate transformation of Globe Telecoms, MWSS, IMI, and BPI Family.

Interested participants are encouraged to avail of the early bird and group discounts.  This learning event is open to the general public and is accredited by the Supreme Court for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) for lawyers. This is a limited-seats-only event and pre-registration is required.
