Zen Hernandez finally addresses Atom Araullo romance rumors
MANILA, Philippines — For the first time, “TV Patrol” news anchor Zen Hernandez has addressed the long-running speculation linking her romantically to Kapuso broadcast journalist Atom Araullo.
While neither Hernandez nor Araullo has publicly confirmed the exact status of their relationship, the two have been the subject of romance rumors for years, with fans frequently sharing social media edits and posts about their supposed relationship.
In a recent episode of the digital talk show “Oh My Gan!,” Hernandez opened up about some of the things currently keeping her busy outside her work as a news anchor and host, including her passion for traveling.
Having visited more than 30 countries, Hernandez was asked about her dream destination and the place she still hopes to visit.
“’Yung last trip ko kasi sa South America was Argentina, Peru and Bolivia. Pero originally, kasi Chile ‘yon. Ang tagal ng visa, di umabot. So gusto kong ituloy ‘yong Chile,” she said.
Host Ganiel Krishnan then asked Hernandez who she would want to bring with her on her next trip.
“‘Yung travel buddy ko, ‘yung GPS ko. ‘Yung kasama ko lagi,” Hernandez replied.
She added that while her travel companion serves as her “GPS,” she takes charge when it comes to organizing their trips.
“But I’m good in planning. So I can plan itinerary. Sobrang smoothly,” she said.
The conversation eventually turned to the romance rumors surrounding Hernandez and Araullo, with Krishnan noting how social media users have been “shipping” the two journalists.
“Ang dami ring nagsi-ship sa inyo on social media. People are doing edits na magkasama kayo, reporting this, reporting that. How do you feel about that, of course?” Krishnan asked.
Hernandez appeared unfazed by the attention and said she finds the public’s interest entertaining.
“Okay lang. Uso yata ‘yon ngayon, e. Mga loveteams. So kahit nasa broadcasting ka, nasa news ka, kasama ka na rin. Okay lang. It’s really part of the job. Nakakaaliw din ‘yung mga tao, ‘yong level of the interest nila. Wala naman akong isyu sa kanila,” she said.
Although Hernandez did not directly confirm or deny her rumored relationship with Araullo, her remarks marked the first time she publicly addressed the online “shipping” involving the two broadcast journalists.
Araullo, meanwhile, previously revealed that he has been in a long-term relationship. During his guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” in November 2025, the award-winning journalist confirmed that he had been “in a relationship” for a long time, though he did not publicly identify his partner.
