Edward Barber reveals engagement to non-showbiz girlfriend

MANILA, Philippines — TV host-actor Edward Barber has revealed that he is engaged to his non-showbiz girlfriend, whom he identified as Ricki.

The revelation came as a surprise to many of his fans after a video of Edward speaking before members of his church community went viral on social media.

While sharing his testimony, Edward expressed gratitude to God for giving him the relationship he had long been praying for.

“From the last time I was here, I am now in an awesome relationship. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! Don't tell me that God is not real. I used to be the most single person in this place,” he said.

Edward then surprised the audience when he flashed a photo of himself and his girlfriend on the church’s LED screen.

He revealed that their relationship had already reached another milestone.

“This is not the point of the sermon. I have a point for showing you all of this. This is not just my girlfriend; this is my fiancée, Ricki... I proposed to her, so she's now my fiancée,” Edward said.

The uploader of the video also posted a photo of Edward and his fiancée in the comments section.

In the photo, Edward was seen wearing a white linen polo while embracing Ricki, who wore a white dress. Her engagement ring was prominently displayed as she raised her hand for the photo.

Netizens later identified Edward’s fiancée as Ricki Umali.

Edward has been increasingly active in church ministry in recent years. On January 26, 2026, Favor Church Manila announced his ordination as one of its new pastors and pastors-in-training, marking his transition into full-time pastoral service.

Even before his ordination, Edward had been open about his desire to deepen his faith and serve God.
