MANILA, Philippines — Viva recently announced its upcoming local adaptation of the hit South Korean drama series “Fight For My Way,” which is set to premiere this November.

The streaming platform gave a sneak peek at the cast of the Philippine adaptation, featuring David Licauco, Ashtine Olviga, Aubrey Caraan and McCoy De Leon as the series’ iconic quartet, dubbed the “Crazy Fantastic Four.”

This marks David and Ashtine’s first-ever onscreen pairing.

During the show’s press conference and cast reveal, David admitted feeling some pressure over taking on the role originally portrayed by Korean star Park Seo-joon.

“I am grateful, at the same time, there’s pressure ’cause ang taas ng Park Seo-joon,” he said.

The actor shared that while he plans to study the nuances of Park’s performance, he also wants to put his own touch on the character.

Ashtine, meanwhile, admitted that there was some awkwardness between her and David during their first few meetings.

“Pareho po pala kaming mahiyain kaya siguro yung awkwardness nandoon,” she said, adding that she’s looking forward to seeing their friendship develop as they work on the series.

Aubrey, who is paired with McCoy in the adaptation, said their previous experience working together has helped them prepare for the project.

“It’s a little easier now because McCoy and I already worked together. This is our second time,” she said.

McCoy, for his part, said he was drawn to the story’s mix of career struggles, friendship and romance.

“For me, sobrang gaang ng kuwento, may puso, alam niyo ’yun, may friendship, nandun lahat,” he said.

The local adaptation, to be directed by Crisanto B. Aquino, is set to premiere on Nov. 20, exclusively on Viva One.

Originally released in South Korea in 2017, “Fight For My Way” starred Park Seo-joon, Kim Ji-won, Ahn Jae-hong and Song Ha-yoon.

The series follows four longtime friends as they navigate their dreams, relationships and personal struggles while pursuing their respective ambitions.
