MANILA, Philippines — Actress and Quezon City 5th District Councilor Aiko Melendez and talent manager Ogie Diaz have ended their professional relationship, prompting speculation among some netizens about the reason behind their split.

Some social media users linked the development to their perceived political differences, noting that Aiko has been vocal about her support for the Duterte camp, while Ogie has been associated with former Vice President Leni Robredo.

However, both Aiko and Ogie have made it clear that there is no bad blood between them and that their friendship remains intact despite the end of their professional partnership.

Aiko addressed the issue in a Facebook post, emphasizing that she and Ogie remain on good terms.

“Inuulit ko po ahh di kami magka-away ni mader Ogie Diaz,” Aiko wrote.

She also revealed that she even recommended a friend to Ogie as a potential talent, saying there was no reason for their friendship to change.

“In fact, nirekomenda ko pa isang kaibigan ko na siya kuhain manager so wala dahilan para mag-iba pagkakaibigan namen. Mahal ko 'yan walang magbabago,” she added.

Ogie, likewise, addressed Aiko’s departure from his talent management, describing the end of their professional relationship as an amicable one.

In a statement sent to “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Ogie said such changes are a normal part of the manager-talent relationship and stressed the importance of preserving their friendship.

“Normal ’yan sa manager-talent relationship. And Kuya Boy knows that bilang pareho kaming manager. Importante, i-save ang friendship,” Ogie said.

He also wished Aiko well in both her political and showbiz endeavors, assuring her that he remains available should she need advice.

“I wish her good luck sa direksyong gusto niya sa kanyang political career and showbiz career as well,” he said.

“Nandito lang naman ako ’pag kailangan ng advice, hindi tayo maramot sa aspetong ’yan. ’Pag happy ang talent sa kaniyang desisyon, mas happy ako dapat dahil naibigay ko ’yung happiness na gusto ng talent. Good luck, Aiko!”
