James Reid says working with Kathryn Bernardo 'long anticipated' by fans

MANILA, Philippines — James Reid believes his long-awaited on-screen collaboration with Kathryn Bernardo is finally becoming a reality at the right time, thanks to a more open environment that has created new opportunities for artists to work together.
Speaking about their upcoming project “Someone Someday,” James said fans have been hoping to see him and Kathryn share the screen for years.
"As far as it comes to working together, I think the crossover of me and Kath working together has been long anticipated actually by a lot of the fans," he said. "This new open kind of way of working together is allowing for more possibilities and more opportunities such as ‘Someone Someday’ to exist."
The actor and musician expressed excitement not only about working with Kathryn but also with Maja Salvador, saying viewers can expect a unique story centered on the characters' unconventional relationship.
"First and foremost, I'm so excited for everyone to see how Kath and I, and also Maja, bring these characters to life," he said. "Hindi normal 'yung kwento nila, 'yung relationship nila. That's what I think is a very special relationship that they have."
James also admitted he felt immense pressure as filming began, describing the series as a significant milestone for everyone involved.
"To be honest, I was very, very nervous," he shared. "I felt all the nerves, the pressure because this is my comeback project. It's also Kathryn's comeback to teleserye, even Maja's, and it's also Direk Chad's debut teleserye. There are so many firsts and so many comebacks."
Despite his initial anxiety, James said the production has been a rewarding experience, particularly working alongside Kathryn and Maja.
"Luckily, it's been a great experience working with Kathryn and Maja. Even though we don't have too many scenes together, I love Ate Maja."
James ended his remarks by expressing gratitude to Dreamscape Entertainment for welcoming him back.
"To my Dreamscape family, thank you so much for welcoming me back home with such open arms. It feels like I never really left, so thank you guys," he said.
