Kim Chiu looks back on 20-year career journey
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya star Kim Chiu celebrated her 20th anniversary in showbiz.
In an Instagram post, the actress and TV host looked back on her journey from being a simple girl from Cebu to becoming one of the most popular stars of her generation.
“Today marks my 20th year in showbiz. Honestly, it still feels unreal,” Kim said.
“As I sit here and look back, I can’t help but remember being that young girl from Cebu,” she added.
The Kapamilya star also shared how her mother taught her to pray for their dreams when she was young.
“So I did. I prayed for good grades. I prayed for someone to help send us to school. I prayed for a house we could finally call our own. I prayed that one day we’d never have to keep asking for help. I prayed that I would have enough so I could help my family,” she said.
According to Kim, some of the things she prayed for seemed impossible at the time, but now she can fulfill them.
“Back then, some of those prayers felt impossible. And yet, years later, here I am. Living the life I once prayed so hard for,” she said.
Kim thanked her supporters, brands that trusted her, and her family at ABS-CBN, who have been part of her two-decade journey in the industry.
“And most importantly, thank You, Lord, for every answered prayer, every closed door that protected me, and every blessing that changed my life,” she said.
“I always say this, but it’s true: Kung may sobra pa sa salitang ‘SALAMAT,’ ‘yun po ang gusto kong sabihin sa inyong lahat. Maraming, maraming salamat po. Cheers to 20 years and hopefully more and more!” she added.
It will be recalled that Kim's showbiz journey began in 2006 after she was hailed as the big winner in "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition."
