COCOPEA, tumiwalag sa NTF-ELCAC

MANILA, Philippines — Pormal nang tumiwalag ang grupo ng mga private schools na Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) mula sa National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng COCOPEA na noong Enero 30 ay hiniling nila kay Pang. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na i-withdraw na ang kanilang membership mula sa naturang task force upang mapreserba ang kanilang kalayaang pang-akademiko. 

Sa kabila nito, tiniyak naman ng COCOPEA na mananatili silang kaisa sa misyon ng NTF-ELCAC na makamit ang pagkakaisa, kapayapaan, seguridad at socioeconomic development ng bansa.

“While COCOPEA respectfully withdraws membership from NTF-ELCAC, it remains one with NTF-ELCAC’s mission to achieve unity, peace, security, and socioeconomic development,” anito pa.

“COCOPEA will conti­nue to represent the private education sector in dialogues with the task force on matters that align with its goals and objectives.”

Samantala, tiniyak naman ng task force na nireres­peto nila ang desis­yon ng COCOPEA.
