2 PCG boat hinarang ng 7 barko ng China
MANILA, Philippines — Dalawa na namang barko ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang hinarang ng 102 meter na Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) ship, kasama ang di bababa sa anim na militia vessels, malapit sa Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), ayon sa isang maritime security expert kahapon.
Sa post sa X (dating Twitter) nitong Linggo ni Ray Powell, sinabi niya naharang ng CCG ang dumaraang 2 barko ng PCG sa 14 nautical miles east ng Second Thomas Shoal.
“Philippines Coast Guard BRP Cabra and BRP Cape Engano now passing, 14 nautical miles (nm) east of Second Thomas Shoal. They have been intercepted by China Coast Guard 5203 and at least six China maritime militia vessels, now closely shadowing,” ani Powell sa X.
“PCG’s BRP Cabra and BRP Cape Engano illuminated their AIS (Automatic Identification System) broadcasts around midnight, 18 nm south of Second Thomas Shoal. China reacted by dispatching seven more militia to bolster blockade around 2TS (Second Thomas Shoal) while CCG 5203 went south & first interdicted the two ships at 7:00,” dagdag pa niya.
Binubuntutan umano ng China Coast Guard 5203 at ng 6 na China maritime militia vessels, na nagsimula dakong alas-5 ng umaga nitong Linggo.
