Operasyon ng PAL 'di apektado ng rally

MANILA, Philippines - Wala umanong naging ‘material impact’ sa operasyon ng Philippine Airlines (PAL) ang kilos protesta ng mga miyembro ng PAL ground union kasama ng kanilang mga tagasuporta.

Ayon sa PAL, nakapagtala ito ng ‘relatively high on-time performance’ o katumbas ng 85% nitong Set­yembre 16 sa mga biyahe para sa 100% reliability rating.

Ito’y sa kabila ng malawakang traffic jam na sanhi ng rally na pinangunahan ng PAL Employees Association (PALEA) na tutol sa PAL spin off/outsourcing sa tatlong non-core departments nito.

Nagpakalat ang PAL ng daan-daang volunteers na binubuo ng administrative staff at on-duty PALEA members na hindi nakiisa sa protesta ng unyon at sinundo ang mga na-stranded na mga pasahero at dinala sa NAIA Terminal 2 gamit ang limang chartered airconditioned buses na pinayagan ng airport authorities na dumaan sa service roads sa loob ng airport complex.

“We apologize to our passengers and the general public who were gravely inconvenienced by yesterday’s protest action. Fortunately, the contingency measures that PAL put in place enabled all our passengers to catch their flights,” pahayag ni PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna.
