Michael Ray Aquino sinundo na ng NBI sa US

MANILA, Philippines - Dalawang opisyal ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang tumulak na kagabi (Lunes) patungong Estados Unidos upang sunduin si da­ting Senior Superintendent Michael Ray Aquino kaugnay sa pagkatig ng US Department of State sa extradition na inihain ng gobyernong Pilipinas.

Sakay ng Philippine Airlines flight PR-102, dakong alas 10-ng gabi sina NBI Foreign Liaison Division chief Head Agent Atty. Claro De Castro Jr. at NBI-Airport Division Head Agent Jesus Manapat, ayon sa kumpirmasyon ni NBI director Magtanggol Gatdula.

Ihaharap si Aquino sa kaniyang kinasasangkutang double murder case sa Manila Regional Trial Court, sa pagpatay kina dating publicist Salvador ‘Bubby’ Dacer at driver na si Emmanuel Corbito noong Nobyembre 2000.

Ang US Marshals ang magdadala kay Aquino sa Los Angeles mula sa Hudson County jail sa New Jersey sakaling makumpleto na ang extradition process. Sa pagdating sa Los Angeles ay itu-turn over naman si Aquino sa NBI officials.

“It will be the Philippine Consulate and the US-DOJ who will be processing the whole extradition. When things are already ok, the US-DOJ will be the one to bring Aquino to Los Angeles from the prison facility in New Jersey,” ani De Castro.

Pansamantala namang nasa ilalim ng NBI custody si Aquino pagtapak sa bansa hanggang sa mag-isyu na ng commitment order ang Manila RTC.

Tulad ng ordinaryong kriminal, sinabi ni DeCastro na dadaan din si Aquino sa fingerprinting, mugshots at booking process. Hindi rin umano pagkakalooban ng special treatment ang nasabing akusado.
