Dagdag benepisyo sa kasambahay itinulak ni Tiangco
MANILA, Philippines - Isang panukalang batas ang inihain ni Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco sa Kongreso na naglalayong bigyan ng karagdagan benepisyo at maayos na kondisyon ang mga kasambahay.
“HB 3717 seeks to promote the domestic workforce whose welfare has long been neglected and vulnerable to abuse. Horror stories of employers locking their maids in their rooms, starving and beating helpless kasambahays abound in the news,” sabi ni Tiangco.
Ipinanukala ni Tiangco na magkaroon ng kontrata sa pagitan ng employer at employee (kasambahay) para sa pagbibigay ng karagdagan benefits tulad ng Social Security System at Philhealth coverage, “mandatory days off” at holidays.
“The domestic work sector is of vital importance to our economy and has been criminally neglected,” ani Tiangco.
